The toe deviates from its natural position and the joint\nbecomes deformed, leading to a bony protrusion outwards from the foot at the\nbase of the big toe. Bunions are often aggravated by wearing shoes that have\nlittle space for your toes. Surgery is the only available treatment to correct\nthe deformity, although the symptoms can be managed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Hammertoes: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hammertoes are a condition arising\nfrom muscular imbalance. This in turn leads to your toes starting to look like\nclaws. Typically this condition affects the second toe, but it can affect other\ntoes as well. You can treat the condition by wearing socks and shoes that do\nnot cramp your toes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Heel spurs: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In heel spurs your plantar fascia\nbecomes inflamed and thicker than usual. You can always reduce the strain by\nwearing the right shoes and using the best possible warm up techniques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, in chronic cases you need\nminimally invasive surgery and shockwave treatment to resolve the condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Ingrown nails: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the name would suggest this is a\ncondition where your nails dig into your skin. This normally happens because\nyour nails have not been trimmed the right way. However, there are other\ncauses, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>shoe pressure<\/li><li>family history<\/li><li>poor foot structure<\/li><li>fungus infection<\/li><li>injury<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can stop it from happening by\ntrimming your nails in a straight way and also by wearing shoes that are of the\nsame size. They should also not be shallow or tapering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Neuromae: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neuromae involve nerves between\njoints becoming compressed against the ligaments. Abnormal structure of bones\nand shoes that do not fit well can lead to this condition as well. Podiatrists\nnormally treat them by using the likes of shoe inserts, cortisone injections,\nand metatarsal pads. They do not have to be treated surgically, although\nsurgery is often used if conservative measures fail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Podiatrists are specially trainer to\ndiagnose and treat a range of common foot issues.
